Oral Appliance Therapy

Oral appliance therapy is a first-line treatment for snoring, Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome, and mild to moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea. It is a safe and effective alternative to CPAP therapy and is often preferred by those who are unable to tolerate CPAP therapy.

Mandibular repositioning appliances work by moving the tongue and jaw into a forward position during sleep. This opens the airway to allow for normal breathing and oxygen flow to the body.

  • They are worn similar to a sports mouth guard or night time mouth guard
  • Oral appliances are very well accepted by most individuals because of their comfort, discreet design, and portability—the appliances available at MAXFACS allow full opening and closing of the jaw, talking, yawning, and drinking during use, yet are compact enough to enable full lip closure

MAXFACS' dental sleep medicine professionals provide all aspects of oral appliance therapy, from the design and fabrication of custom-fitted oral appliances to treatment and follow-up. Call us at (416)-961-MFAC (6322) or 1-855-MAX-FACS (629-3227) today for a free consultation.
