Self-Test

Take this simple self-test to determine if you are at risk of having undiagnosed sleep apnea:

EPWORTH SLEEPINESS SCALE:

Rate each of the following situations on a 0-3 scale for how likely you are to accidently fall asleep:

Sitting and reading

Watching TV

Sitting, inactive in a public place (e.g. a theater or a meeting)

As a passenger in a car for an hour without a break

Lying down to rest in the afternoon when circumstances permit

Sitting and talking to someone

Sitting quietly after a lunch without alcohol

In a car, while stopped for a few minutes in traffic

TOTAL:

A total score of nine or above indicates that you suffer from excessive daytime sleepiness and should see a sleep specialist.

A total score below nine does not necessarily guarantee an absence of any issues. If you snore or have been told that you gasp for breath in your sleep, call our office for a free consultation at (416) 961-6322 or toll-free at 1-855-MAX-FACS (629-3227).
